trimming your wick

the first thing you should do is trim your wick to around 1/4". you will also need to do this step during the entire life of your candle. why? because that is what will allow the even burning of your candle and allow the fragrance to be used efficiently and not be wasted!

melting your wax

now the second most important step after you light your wick for the first time is to allow the candle to burn long enough so that the entire top portion of wax is melted. this is a super important step in helping your candle last as long as possible!

what happens if you skip this important step? you might experience tunneling! that's no bueno! oh yeah, and what's tunneling you ask? keep reading!

so what exactly is tunneling?

it's something that should be avoided at all costs! don't be that person!

you've undoubtedly seen candles where there's a hollow area where the wick has burned down and left tons of wax around the sides of the candle! that's tunneling! and it means lots of unused fragrance and wasted wax! no thanks!

what should you remember? three simple things! easy breezy!

    read the warning label on the bottom of the candle.
